According to Crain’s Chicago Business, this is the 21st consecutive month of job loss. (That puts Illinois ahead of the national recession curve.)
By the way, the state’s unemployment fund went broke in July. (It’s not because businesses were not taxed enough…)

United States Senator Dick Durbin paid a visit to Decatur yesterday to participate in a roundtable discussion on the topic of unemployment benefits. If you hadn’t heard, President Obama recently signed into law a plan to extend unemployment benefits by 20 weeks for states with high unemployment numbers.
